Our club is affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Club (GFWC). The largest organization of volunteer women in the world. Our national headquarters is located in Washington, D.C.

The General Federation was founded in 1890, with the motto of "Unity in Diversity". This group of women has grown into the largest organization of volunteer women in the world with more then one million members worldwide in 20 countries.

GFWC was instrumental in establishing most of the nation's libraries and helped to pass the Pure Food and Drug Act and the first child labor laws.

The largest and oldest non denominational, nonpartisan, international service organization of volunteer women in the world.

GFWC is responsible for the establishment of 75% of America's more than 14,000 public libraries.

Our Club is also affiliated with the Florida Federation of Women's Clubs (FFWC). In addition to the GFWC international membership, you will also be a member of our state federation, Florida Federation of Women's Clubs of FFWC. Our state headquarters are located in Lakeland, Florida. The president of FFWC and the executive committee members oversee the operation of our state federation. Our membership is approximately 20,000.

FFWC celebrated its centenial in 1995, having been organized in 1895 in Cove Springs, Florida. FFWC was one of the first organizations to become involved in the preservation of the Everglades and to help establish Royal Palm State Park. In 1972, the Florida Federation built the first home at Hacienda Girls Ranch in Melbourne. The ranch currently is home to up to 35 girls in three houses and has a large group meeting and learning facility. Hacienda Girls Ranch is the only continuing project of FFWC.
